About Melchers

At Melchers Construction, we build more than homes — we build neighborhoods where life unfolds naturally. Rooted in small-town values and surrounded by the beauty of Southwestern Ontario, each of our communities is thoughtfully planned to offer a slower pace, a stronger sense of connection, and the space to grow.

From the welcoming streets of Canterbury Heights in Belmont to the laid-back lake lifestyle of Kokomo Beach Club in Port Stanley, and the family-friendly feel of Kilworth Heights, each location brings its own personality — yet all are united by the craftsmanship and care Melchers is known for.

Whether you’re exploring life in Timberwalk in Ilderton or discovering one of our other vibrant communities, we continue to choose places where people feel at home — where neighbors become friends, and every detail is considered with intention.

Wherever you choose to plant roots, you’ll find timeless design, thoughtful planning, and a place that feels like it was made for you.

Built on Legacy.

At the heart of Melchers Construction is a legacy that spans generations. Chris Melchers, now leading the company, stands proudly beside his father Ted in this photo — a true symbol of where we’ve come from and where we’re headed.

Ted Melchers, with his wife Kim, started the company in 1987. With decades of experience passed down through the family, our commitment to quality, integrity, and hard work has remained the same. It’s more than construction — it’s a family tradition built to last.

Our Office

Melchers Construction Limited operates out of our head office at 22662 Komoka Road — a space with its own story. Once home to the local bank, the building was thoughtfully repurposed by our team into the office we now call home. Located in the heart of Komoka, it’s a reflection of what we do best: transforming spaces with purpose, quality, and care.

Featuring original details and modern upgrades, our office is not only where we work — it’s a daily reminder of our roots, craftsmanship, and connection to the community.

In 2011, Ted received the prestigious Mowbray Sifton Award, presented annually to a member in recognition of outstanding contributions to the London Home Builders' Association (LHBA) over the preceding three years. The LHBA’s President’s Award, established in 1995 to honour members or industry supporters who have gone above and beyond to raise the profile of the LHBA without personal gain, was awarded to Ted in 2008 and to Chris in 2016. Both Ted and Chris have served on the LHBA Board of Directors in the past, with Ted holding the position of President from 2014 to 2015. Today, they continue to actively participate in LHBA initiatives and community service.

Melchers is an award-winning builder recognized for excellence in craftsmanship, community impact, & industry leadership.
